Connectivity Issues

  • Enable Notifications! This app needs push notifications to synchronise you with your connections and establish connections. You can block or mute people if there is a problem, but this app simply will not work right without
  • Update your phones!
  • If someone tried to connect to you, you may need to try and connect back to them as background threading is limited by mobile devices
  • Direct peer connections are not always possible, at this point we are not relaying
  • It seems like WebRTC is not officially supported on Apple. This stuff is kind of experimental, but we've tested and it seems to work
  • App more or less needs to be open on both devices to maintain a live connection.
  • You can retry after 30 seconds or so
  • Disconnect from Wi-Fi, force close the app, or try waiting 10 minutes.
  • Sometimes push alerts to Apple devices take minutes or timeout from APNS.

  • FlyTexting can only be logged into on 1 phone at a time with a given account
  • There are recovery/transfer options you can configure in settings
  • You can sign onto your new phone by having a code sent to your old phone that you are logged into, or via recovery email
